Requirements

– Ability to greet and answer people properly.
– Ability to cooperate within the group.
– Ability to read music.
– Ability to take part in rehearsals (except when there are school events) and practice by oneself as much as possible.
– Ability to take the initiative to engage in activities with the orchestra, and work with other members.

Eligibility

Applicants must live or commute to school in Setagaya City and be 3rd-year high school students or below (as of April 2024).

*Inexperienced individuals shall join group rehearsals after taking part in several individual lessons.

Openings

String instruments: Violin & viola, cello, contrabass
Woodwind instruments: Flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon
Brass instruments: Horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba

*Holding of Hands-on Workshop*

Musical instrument workshops will be held according to the schedule below.
Those contemplating joining the orchestra and trying a new musical instrument, but are apprehensive about it, because they have never even touched the instrument are most welcome!
Monday (holiday), January 8, 2024: Brass instrument section (horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba)
Sunday, January 14, 2024: String instrument section (violin, viola, cello, contrabass)
Sunday, January 21, 2024: Woodwind instrument section (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon)
