The previous regular concert was to mark a milestone, being the 10th concert. Unfortunately, it had to be canceled. After a temporary suspension of activities, we began practicing again around summer. However, we still face restrictions on the number of people allowed to attend practices, and we have yet to practice as a full orchestra. In spite of this, we hope to implement thorough measures to prevent infection and put on a concert! Shin-ichiro Ikebe (Musical Director of the Setagaya Junior Orchestra) will finally be given the opportunity to perform his new work prepared for this occasion. Come and enjoy the music filled with the vitality of the children who have overcome so many obstacles and worked so hard to put on this performance.
Shin-ichiro Ikebe: Counting Stars (SJO commissioned work, performed for the first time in the world)
Sibelius: Symphonic Poem “Finlandia,” Op. 26
Mozart: Symphony No. 41 “Jupiter”
